“« Sustainable performance begins at night. »”

Patrick Lesage
Patrick Lesage is a speaker, an expert in sleep/wake management and in managing stressful situations. He is the founder of the firm "Performance & Mieux-Être." For over fifteen years, he has been helping companies, institutions, universities, and elite athletes to sustainably improve performance, concentration, and quality of life through a better understanding of the biological and psychological mechanisms of sleep.
His expertise is based on a double legitimacy: a university education specialized in sleep and nearly thirty years of experience in business. He holds a University Diploma in sleep and vigilance technologies (Paris V Medical School), a postgraduate degree in social law and human resources management (University of Nantes), as well as a master's degree in information and communication sciences (University of Rennes II). He has also complemented his career with certifications in cardiac coherence (HeartMath®), mindfulness (MBSR), sophrology, and positive psychology.
Before focusing on teaching and lecturing, Patrick Lesage held responsible positions within large groups such as PSA and Crédit Agricole. This operational experience gives him a fine understanding of the real issues facing organizations: performance, safety, engagement, transformation, and prevention of psychosocial risks, QVCT, CSR. He relies on this field knowledge to propose concrete, directly applicable interventions adapted to professional constraints.
A member of the French Society of Sleep Research and Medicine (SFRMS), he regularly speaks for major organizations such as Airbus, Capgemini, Chanel, EDF, Framatome, La Poste, and the Armed Forces Health Service, Soprastéria, Vinci…, [PL1] as well as in networks of leaders like CJD or GERME. He also assists athletes and teams engaged in high-demand environments requiring vigilance and recovery: ocean skippers (Vendée Globe, Jacques Vabre, 6.50, Route du Rhum), teams (volleyball, handball), and athletes aiming for the 2028 Olympics.
A contributor to the latest special issue of '60 million consumers' dedicated to sleep, he is also the author of the reference book "2h chrono to sleep better (and gain energy)" published by Dunod. Patrick Lesage offers a clear, scientific, and accessible approach to sleep. He demonstrates that sleep is not only a biological function but a strategic lever of cognitive performance, emotional stability, health (both physical and mental), resilience…
Through his conferences, he pursues an essential mission: to help everyone "open their eyes to their sleep" and to develop simple reflexes to sustainably enhance energy, clarity, and effectiveness in a constantly accelerating world.
"Open your eyes to your sleep"
- Sleep is one of the fundamental pillars of cognitive, emotional, and physical performance. Yet, it remains largely underestimated in modern organizations. In this conference, Patrick Lesage explains clearly and accessibly to different audiences the biological mechanisms of sleep, the cycles, the circadian rhythms, and their direct impact on concentration, decision-making, and creativity.
- He demonstrates how fatigue progressively impairs cognitive abilities, increases errors, and weakens engagement and cooperation within teams. He deconstructs the most common misconceptions and reveals the true levers of restorative sleep.
- Participants will discover concrete strategies to sustainably improve their sleep, optimize their recovery, and enhance their daily energy.
Sleep, alertness, and performance at work!
- Lack of vigilance is a major factor in errors, accidents, and loss of effectiveness in organizations. Patrick Lesage explains how fatigue affects perception, attention, and decision-making, and why vigilance is a strategic resource.
- He addresses the specific challenges of intense work, atypical schedules, demanding environments, or high-responsibility situations.
- The conference provides concrete solutions to improve individual and collective vigilance, enhance safety, and support sustainable performance.
Learn to better manage your stress to move towards resilience!
- Stress is a natural reaction, but when it becomes chronic, it profoundly affects health (both physical and mental), concentration, and the capacity for action. Patrick Lesage explains the neurobiological mechanisms of stress and their direct interaction with sleep and recovery.
- He proposes simple and scientifically validated techniques, such as cardiac coherence, mindfulness meditation, positive psychology, sophrology, and micro-recovery breaks.
- Participants leave with immediately applicable tools to regulate their stress and preserve their energy to move towards resilience.
Dare to take a nap at work!
- Long seen as a sign of weakness, napping is now recognized as a powerful tool for recovery and performance. Patrick Lesage explains how a few minutes of rest can restore alertness, improve memory, and enhance cognitive efficiency.
- He presents the different types of naps (taught to professional skippers) and their benefits, as well as the optimal conditions for integrating them into professional daily life.
- This conference contributes to changing perceptions of rest and promoting a culture of sustainable performance.
Sleep and performance of leaders and teams!
- Sleep quality directly influences the ability to decide, innovate, and lead. This conference is particularly aimed at leaders, managers, and teams exposed to demanding environments.
- Patrick Lesage explains how to preserve your energy in a context of constant pressure and how to integrate simple practices to maintain high performance over time.
- This approach is what he has been providing for over 15 years in professional networks such as the Young Business Leaders' Center, GERME…
