Liberalism is at the heart of contemporary debates, at the crossroads of economics, politics, and societal transformations. Advocating for entrepreneurial freedom, competition, and innovation, it has profoundly shaped modern economies — while also sparking questions and criticisms regarding inequalities, crises, and environmental challenges.
This conference proposes to revisit the foundations of liberalism, from classical thinkers like Adam Smith to contemporary forms of neoliberalism. It analyzes its evolutions, its successes — growth, entrepreneurial dynamism, globalization — but also its limits in a world facing increasing social and ecological tensions.
Beyond the caricatured opposition between State and market, the speakers explore the paths of a renewed liberalism: smart regulation, corporate responsibility, sustainable innovation, and new balances between economic performance and societal impact. The challenge is to conceive a model capable of reconciling individual freedom, economic efficiency, and collective cohesion.
