“Laurent Alexandre puts AI into perspective to equip decision-makers and citizens for the disruptions to come.”
Laurent Alexandre
Laurent Alexandre is a trained urologist-surgeon, a graduate of Sciences Po, HEC and the ENA. He has established himself as one of the most prominent voices in Europe on issues related to artificial intelligence, the medicine of the future, and the societal upheavals driven by NBIC technologies (nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, and cognitive sciences). In 1999, he co-founded the site Doctissimo, a pioneer in digital health, before taking the helm of DNAVision, a company specializing in DNA sequencing. His entrepreneurial journey is a testament to a strong intuition: understanding in advance the technological mutations and anticipating their repercussions for society.
A recognized essayist, he is the author of several best-sellers that have been translated and commented on, including La Mort de la mort, La Guerre des intelligences, and La Guerre des intelligences in the age of ChatGPT. These works explore central themes: the future of education, human longevity, democracy in the digital age, and the impact of generative AI. A columnist for Le Monde and L'Express, an international speaker, he regularly participates in major events such as TEDxParis, Bpifrance Inno Génération, or the USI. His speeches, sometimes controversial, provoke both adherence and debate, but always with a clarity and an energy that leaves a mark on minds.
Laurent Alexandre shines a light on the paradoxes and dilemmas of our time: how to preserve our democracies in the age of algorithms, how to rethink education in the face of AI, and how to reconcile technological progress and ethical issues. His deliberately provocative tone serves a mission: to alert and awaken awareness about the ongoing upheavals. Today, he is considered one of the essential French thinkers on the technological transformations. In business as well as with the general public, he invites us to envision a dizzying future, full of extraordinary opportunities and major societal challenges.
