Biography

A sociologist at the heart of organisations

After a career in economics and finance, Cécile Banon turned to sociology. For thirteen years she headed the Observatoire social of the Banque de France, where she analysed changes in work and management practices.

Understanding professional misalignment

She studies the causes of disengagement and those situations where, despite their skills, employees no longer find their place in their role or their organisation.

Ikigai as a tool for action

After six years devoted to career transitions, she developed an approach inspired by ikigai to better align skills, motivations and contribution.

A speaker who gets the audience involved

Her talks blend sociology, lived experience, humour and interaction to help everyone better understand their relationship with work and identify concrete levers for action.

A method extended through writing

In 2022 she published Trouvez le job de vos rêves with Eyrolles, a method for getting to know yourself better and building a coherent career plan.

Cécile Banon reconciles meaning, commitment, and performance to sustainably transform our relationship with work.

01

Give Them Meaning and They Will Stay!

Recharging the “ACCUS” of engagement

Loss of engagement often has less to do with individuals than with practices that cut them off from the meaning of their work. Cécile Banon presents the five ACCUS levers — Avenir (future), Cohérence (coherence), Confiance (trust), Utilité (usefulness) and Sourire (smile) — and shows how to activate them to give teams fresh momentum.

  • Understanding the real causes of disengagement
  • Identifying what fuels meaning at work
  • Strengthening trust and perceived usefulness
  • Retaining talent without relying solely on material benefits
Ideal for HR departments, managers, internal conventions, talent retention, employer branding
Format Talk, with optional workshop · 45 min + 15 min Q&A; optional workshop of 1 to 2 hours

Work Is Not an Impossible Love!

Rediscovering the desire to work together

Employees have not necessarily fallen out of love with their work, but sometimes with the conditions in which they do it. Cécile Banon decodes the main professional “passion killers” — processes, reporting, contradictory demands, lack of autonomy or recognition — and offers ways to reconcile performance, humanity and the pleasure of contributing.

  • Recognising the practices that gradually destroy engagement
  • Making real work and invisible work visible again
  • Restoring autonomy, trust and recognition
  • Turning the diagnosis into concrete management actions
Ideal for Management seminars, conventions, internal transformations, HR and workplace well-being (QWL) events
Format Talk or keynote · 45 to 60 min

Avoiding Miscasting at Work!

Putting the right talent on the right missions

Why do competent employees sometimes fail in a role or an internal move? Drawing on the sociology of work and ikigai, Cécile Banon shows how to better align skills, aspirations and individual drivers to secure recruitment, internal mobility and career transitions.

  • Spotting the signs of professional misalignment
  • Reducing the human and organisational cost of miscasting
  • Better guiding recruitment and internal mobility
  • Revealing potential and building coherent career paths
Ideal for Recruitment, internal mobility, talent management, career change, evolving professions
Format Talk or participatory workshop · 45 to 180 min

The Power of the 3Rs: Rupture, Resilience, Rebound

A true rebound is not a return, but an ascent

Failure, rupture or loss of confidence: anyone can see their bearings upended. Cécile Banon shows how to move from ordeal to rebound and, with ikigai, turn a rupture into an opportunity to find a new, meaningful direction.

  • Understanding the mechanisms of rupture and loss of confidence
  • Identifying the conditions needed for resilience
  • Finding meaning again after an ordeal
  • Turning a difficult experience into fresh individual and collective momentum
Ideal for Transformations, restructurings, associations, federations, teams facing change
Format “Élan” talk or “Initiation” talk with an ikigai workshop · 45 min + 15 min Q&A; up to 3 hours with workshop
