Biography

An engineer, entrepreneur and hands-on project leader, Marc Amerigo has spent more than thirty years working in environments where complexity, pressure and minimal room for error require people to think and act differently.

An engineer of complex environments

A graduate of École Centrale de Lyon, with further training at EM Lyon Business School and the University of Maryland, Marc Amerigo has built a career at the intersection of engineering, entrepreneurship and innovation.

From aeronautics and nuclear power to marine engineering, automotive projects and environmental technologies, he has led assignments where both technical and human constraints are exceptionally demanding. As an inventor or contributor to fourteen patents, he has developed an approach based on observation, creativity and cooperation between disciplines that are usually kept apart.

World records as a laboratory

Marc Amerigo applies this culture of innovation to extreme sports. Working with champions such as Éric Barone, Edmond Plawczyk and Antoine Albeau, he has contributed to nine world speed records.

These adventures are more than sporting achievements. They are real-life laboratories for leadership, decision-making and collective performance. When pressure reaches its highest level, technical expertise alone is not enough: trust, fluid relationships and the ability to mobilise every form of intelligence become decisive.

Zephir Project: uniting technology, people and the environment

With Antoine Albeau, twenty-seven-time windsurfing world champion, Marc Amerigo co-founded Zephir Project. This international programme brings together engineers, researchers, students, industrial partners and athletes to push the limits of sailing speed while developing responsible innovations.

The project combines biomimicry, digital simulation, human sciences and advanced technologies. It embodies Marc's central conviction: environmental constraints do not necessarily limit performance; they can become powerful drivers of innovation.

From performance to UltraPerformance

Through his concept of UltraPerformance, Marc Amerigo champions a form of performance that sacrifices neither people nor the environment. He distinguishes pure performance, often achieved at the cost of exhaustion, from sustainable performance based on the alignment of technical excellence, human fulfilment and collective purpose.

His approach is built around seven pillars drawn from field experience: the explorer mindset, trust, humility, transmission, creativity, commitment and collective fluidity.

A speaker who has lived what he teaches

Marc Amerigo has delivered more than 300 talks in France and internationally. On stage, he takes audiences behind the scenes of critical industrial projects, world records and situations where a single decision can change everything.

His stories become directly applicable lessons for organisations: deciding under uncertainty, breaking down silos, unlocking collective intelligence, turning constraints into solutions and sustaining human commitment over time.

Author of The Quest for UltraPerformance – Uniting Technology, People and the Environment: A Realistic Utopia, he also teaches leadership within the Executive Master programme at École Polytechnique.

Turning chaos and uncertainty into sustainable performance.

Conferences

In his talks, Marc Amerigo connects industrial innovation, extreme sports and human sciences to help organisations succeed in complex and uncertain environments.

01

Future leadership and management: performing under uncertainty

Turn uncertainty into a field for action.

In a world of constant transformation, traditional management models are reaching their limits. Marc Amerigo invites leaders to view uncertainty not as a threat, but as a space for exploration and opportunity.

Drawing on real situations from industry and extreme sports, he shows how to unite teams, sustain trust and make decisions when familiar reference points disappear.

  • Develop clear, human-centred leadership
  • Strengthen shared responsibility
  • Make decisions and mobilise people under uncertainty
Ideal for Executives, managers, leadership teams and strategic transformations
Format Conference or keynote · 45 to 90 minutes
02

UltraPerformance: pushing limits without losing yourself

Achieve excellence without exhausting teams.

What distinguishes teams capable of exceptional performance from those that eventually burn out? For Marc Amerigo, the answer does not lie solely in effort or technical mastery.

UltraPerformance is built on alignment between purpose, skills, commitment and the quality of relationships. It enables exceptional results while supporting both individual and collective fulfilment.

  • Combine high standards with human fulfilment
  • Protect team energy over time
  • Turn trust into an operational advantage
Ideal for Conventions, sales teams, managers and ambitious projects
Format Conference or keynote · 45 to 75 minutes
03

Innovation and complexity: creating in an unstable world

Turn constraints into new solutions.

Innovating in an unstable environment requires more than generating ideas. It demands a different way of observing, dialogue between disciplines and a willingness to experiment.

Drawing on engineering, biomimicry and record-breaking sports projects, Marc Amerigo shows how complexity can become a driver of creativity. He shares a practical approach for moving beyond linear thinking and designing resilient solutions.

  • Move beyond silos and established habits
  • Encourage experimentation and creativity
  • Turn constraints into drivers of innovation
Ideal for Innovation, R&D, industry, transformation and project teams
Format Conference or workshop · 45 to 120 minutes
04

Performance and environmental responsibility: a realistic utopia

Make environmental constraints a driver of excellence.

Economic performance and environmental responsibility are still too often presented as opposing goals. Through the Zephir Project, Marc Amerigo demonstrates that they can, in fact, reinforce one another.

Environmental constraints compel teams to rethink materials, uses, and cooperation models. They can therefore become sources of innovation and strategic differentiation.

  • Reconcile performance with positive impact
  • Use constraints to stimulate innovation
  • Unite teams around a responsible ambition
Ideal for CSR, industry, innovation, climate events and leadership teams
Format Keynote or conference · 45 to 60 minutes
05

BrainShift: turning chaos into a performance lever

Observe, innovate and influence rather than endure.

Chaos is no longer exceptional; it has become a permanent feature of organisational life. Marc Amerigo proposes a shift in mindset to regain clarity and the ability to act.

His BrainShift method helps participants observe systems as a whole, identify new possibilities and turn pressure into constructive energy.

  • Accept uncertainty without giving up action
  • Develop more adaptive intelligence
  • Build a collective roadmap
Ideal for Rapid transformations, project teams, innovation and crisis management
Format Conference or interactive workshop · 60 to 120 minutes
