Consultant, author and speaker André Angotti offers a distinctive approach to artificial intelligence: less technology-centred and more human, decision-focused, philosophical and practical.

Staying in control of the machine

A specialist in applied artificial intelligence, expert systems and organisational performance, André Angotti has spent several decades supporting companies, local authorities and their leaders in technological choices and decision-making processes.

His conviction is clear: artificial intelligence must not replace human judgement. It should help structure information, illuminate decisions and make better use of the knowledge held within organisations.

A career spanning IT and management

With a postgraduate degree in management science from Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, André Angotti has devoted much of his career to information technology, information-systems management and the organisation of companies and local authorities.

He has also taught at several higher-education institutions, including Centrale Paris–CentraleSupélec, Sciences Po, Sorbonne University and Université Laval in Quebec.

A philosophical approach to AI

All his talks include a philosophical dimension. To understand the transformations brought about by AI, André Angotti revisits the ways we reason and the major intellectual tensions that have shaped Western thought: Plato and Aristotle, Descartes and Pascal, Freud and Jung, Bergson and Einstein.

These references allow him to explore complexity, responsibility, time, intelligence and the place of human beings in relation to technological automatisms from a different perspective.
